We help injured workers in the San Francisco Bay Area with workers’ compensation and related benefits claims.

Types of Benefits You May Be Eligible For

If you have a job-related injury or illness, you might qualify for various workers’ compensation benefits, including medical treatment, temporary and permanent disability benefits, and supplemental job displacement benefits. Additionally, you could be eligible for other state, federal, and private insurance benefits.

SDI usually pays lost wages for non-work-related injuries.  You may qualify for SDI if:

  • Your employer’s claims administrator rejects your temporary disability claim.
  • Your temporary disability benefits have stopped, but you still can’t return to work.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

You may be eligible for SSDI if you:

  • Can’t perform your former job or any other work due to your disability.
  • Expect your disability to last more than a year or result in death. If your SSDI claim is denied, you can appeal, and we can help with that process.

Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal is California’s public health insurance program offering services to people with disabilities, including those disabled due to workplace injuries.

Medicare

Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people that are disabled and have received SSDI benefits for 24 months, or for people age 65 or older.

Local Bay Area counties and cities offer various benefits. For example:

  • San Francisco provides in-home care services.
  • San Mateo County offers vocational rehabilitation services.

Private Health Insurance

Most people receive their health insurance from their employer as a benefit of employment.  However, if you lose employer-provided health insurance, you can apply for coverage through the Affordable Care Act at CoveredCA.com.
